The first round of the international open chess tournament with the name of defeat of Hasr Abadan, the Arvand Cup, ended its work with introducing the top players.
According to AFZ’s public relations and international affairs report, after a week of competition among chess players from 13 countries, the international open chess tournament with the name of defeat of Hasr Abadan “Arvand Cup” ended with introducing the top players.
At this closing ceremony, which was held at AFZ’s conference hall of “Shahid Sayah Tahri”, the representative of Iran’s Chess Federation, the provincial, regional officials of sports, the AFZ’s managers and the managers of Abadan and Khorramshahr, coaches, referees, players were present.
This competition was held with the participation of 400 chess players from 13 countries including Austria, Spain, Holland, England, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Syria, Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The secretary of Iran’s Chess Federation was the speaker of this event. Mojtabi Daneshfar said: the competition is currently ongoing in Asian Games in Hangzhou, and the Iranian national team won the world’s second team with four victories today, and if it defeats the Thai team tomorrow, it will get the championship.
The Director of Sports and Youth also announced launching of several sports projects in AFZ, including standard lawns and dormitories. In this conference, Ali Zarei, AFZ’s CEO and other managers that helped in holding these competitions were honored. At the end, the best people were awarded with a certificate of appreciation.
