According to Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Arvand Free Zone Organization, the deputy of Culture, Social Affairs and Tourism of this Organization, Ghodratollah Tamimian, accompanied by other managers of this deputy, while visiting the wicker weaving workshop under the management of Somayeh Shahini, which was set up in Arvand Kenar, said: the contribution of women in the development of home-based businesses was very effective and said: Promoting traditional and indigenous arts, especially by women entrepreneurs, plays a very important role in the growth and development of a sustainable economy; especially in rural and less developed areas.
During his visit to this workshop, Tamimian considered the promotion and development of wicker weaving industry as an indigenous and original art important and added: “This workshop is an important step in empowering women by creating direct employment for 4 people and indirect employment for more than 10 Arvand Kenar’s women.”
