An economic meeting hosted by the Khorramshahr Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, in cooperation with the Arvand Free Zone Organization, reviewed the region\u2019s trade and economic potential and the challenges facing private-sector activity.
\nThe meeting was attended by Shamseddin Hosseini, Chairman of the Parliament\u2019s Economic Commission, the Governor-General of Khuzestan, provincial and local officials, and a number of local tribal leaders and prominent figures.
\nHosseini stressed the need to facilitate trade, reduce customs procedures, costs and processing times, and enable round-the-clock operations at the Shalamcheh border and customs. He said the capacities of Shalamcheh and the Arvand Free Zone should be viewed from a national perspective, given their potential contribution to Iran\u2019s trade and economic development.
