Exports of goods to Iraq rise 66% in eight months

The value of exports to Iraq in the first eight months of this year was 6 Billion and 757 Million Dollars, which was 66.59 percent and 66.14 percent, respectively, from the same period last year.
According to Public Relations and International Affairs department of Arvand Free Zone Organization, quoting from IRNA, Iran’s non-oil exports amounted to 75 million 270 thousand tons in the first eight months of this year, which is worth 31 Billion and 491 Million Dollars.
Iraq has always been the second largest export market for Iranian products in recent years, and after its occupation by the United States, many of its needs from food and machinery to electricity and natural gas depend on Iran.
In the past two months, this country has ranked first among Iran’s export target countries’. October this year, the import of Iraq from Iran in comparison with China increased by 3, 745 Thousand tons, and in statistical tables, it was the first place to import from Iran.
Also, the study of customs statistics tables shows, in the first eight months of this year, 14 Million and 215 Thousand tons of goods were exported to this country, which includes 18.89 percent of the weight of exports.
Iran’s most important exports items to Iraq include “parts and components of steam turbines”, “plates, thin sheets and plastic tapes,” dairy products such as “milk”, “cheese”, “cream” and “ice cream”, foodstuffs, Fruits and vegetables.
A survey of customs statistics indicates that Iran-Iraq trade balance is now in the favor of Iran, but it should be noted that there is a bird trade that has two wings; one is export and the other is import.
Iraq exports 55,956 tons of goods worth 33 Million and 659 Thousand Dollars in the first eight months of this year, ranked 42 in the list of countries exporting goods to Iran.
In the first eight months of this year, imports from Iraq dropped by 39.55% and value by 42.74% compared to the same period last year. Livestock corn, aluminum and barley, with the exception of seeds, are the most important imported goods from Iran.
In the first eight months of this year, 21 Million and 498 Thousand tons of goods worth 29 Billion and 549 Million Dollars entered the country. Iran’s imports fell by 12.58 percent from the first eight months of last year and by 14.4 percent from the Dollar value.
